1) Colorado Freeride Festival: July 23 – 27
The premiere biking event in Colorado, a concrete example of why Winter Park is the ‘Mountain Bike Capital of the USA.’ This is a festival that combines family-friendly activities with high-intensity professional racing. Everyone from families to biking enthusiasts should take note of this famous festival, where athletes are competing for a $45,000 prize.
2) Epic Singletrack Series: June 13 – August 22
From the same people who bring you the Freeride Festival comes the Epic Singletrack Series. This is a series of races and competitions that take place across a series of months, but it isn’t an ongoing week-long festival like the Freeride Festival. 3) BetterRide Biking Camp: July 10 – 12
The folks over at BetterRide offer an in-depth, multi-day mountain biking camp to help turn amateurs into enthusiasts. This intensive course covers everything from simple tips to specific techniques, like hard cornering.
4) Women, Wheels & Wine: July 19
For all of the ladies out there who love to bike, this is a great event at Devil’s Thumb Ranch, just outside of Winter Park, that combines fun and exercise. The day’s activities will take you through instruction on various bike handling skills, as well free-riding and a complimentary wine tasting.
5) Trestle Gravity Series: July 4 – September 1
Like the other series, the Trestle Gravity Series occurs for a number of weeks throughout the summer. You can register per-race or for the whole series, which is a combination of air & traditional downhill races. For the competition-loving bikers out there, this is an ideal event.
