We also include Energy Star-certified appliances in our kitchens and throughout our homes. The Energy Star program is a voluntary program established by the EPA, and the Energy Star label was created to help to identify and promote energy-efficient products.
These Energy Star products offer two big advantages: first, they protect our climate. The more efficient appliances actually help to reduce your carbon footprint, and a smaller carbon footprint is better for Mother Earth. Second, Energy Star products save you money! Since Energy Star appliances are more energy-efficient, that means your monthly energy bills will get smaller as well.
An Energy Star-certified appliance must offer more energy-efficient operation while still delivering the same performance and features expected of comparable appliances in its class. If an Energy Star-qualified product costs more than its non-qualified counterpart, then the Energy Star product is expected to make up the difference in price with cost savings over time. In other words – even if an Energy Star-certified product costs more up front, it’ll eventually cost less as your energy bills are reduced over time!
