Grand Park – the ideal location for a mountain community
Grand Park is located in the heart of Grand County, Colorado, which makes for the perfect mountain home location. Grand Park is just 71 miles from Denver, and less than two hours from the Denver International Airport, which makes Grand Park as easily accessible as it is beautiful. Unlike other far-reaching mountain communities, Grand Park residents can easily be to Denver and back in the same day!
The Grand Park area is also located right up against the Continental Divide, which has a funneling effect when snowstorms move in. This means the Grand Park area receives plenty of snowfall, making for a winter wonderland of area activities.
The Winter Park Ski Resort, which will open for the winter ski season in just weeks, is only a few minutes down the road from Grand Park. The resort receives over 29 feet of snow annually, which amounts to plenty of perfect powder days for skiers and snowboarders alike! The resort also features a wide variety of terrain to suit every style and ability of skier, including plenty of groomed runs, freestyle parks, moguls, trees, and even back bowls.
In addition to the Winter Park resort, the area offers many other winter recreation activities. Snowmobiling, ice-skating, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country ski opportunities abound, and all within just minutes of Grand Park. In fact, Grand Park’s open spaces feature some of the best cross-country trails in the area!
Though winters really are wonderful in Grand Park, the area’s winter recreation is just part of the fun. Even more activities abound during the Rocky Mountain summers in Grand Park. Grand County boasts over 600 miles of hiking and biking trails. The Fraser and Colorado Rivers offer excellent fly-fishing and rafting. Grand Park residents are also less than an hour away from Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the nation’s most iconic parks.
Four world-class golf courses are located within just minutes of Grand Park, which means an epic round of mountain golf is always just a short drive away (no pun intended).
Though there are indeed plenty of recreational opportunities in the area, residents don’t even necessarily need to leave the Grand Park community to enjoy the exciting mountain lifestyle. Grand Park’s open spaces offer residents exclusive hiking, biking, fishing, cross-country ski trails, and even a disc golf course! The Grand Park village also has unique shopping, dining, and entertainment options, including The Foundry Cinema & Bowl and the Grand Park Community Recreation Center.
The point is – sure, you could spend all day driving to one of the communities in the far corners of the Rocky Mountains, but odds are, Grand Park is a nicer, newer, greener, better mountain community, with more events and activities – and all just an easy 71 mile drive from Denver! Why look any further?
