Summertime in Mountain Bike Capital USA

Lots of summer events are just around the corner in Grand Park! The Grand Classic Golf Tournament is just days away, on June 13-14. The Ride The Rockies road bike tour begins even sooner than that, with Grand Park co-hosting the June 8 stop of the tour – that’s this weekend!

In addition to Ride The Rockies, the summer season brings even more bike fun in the Grand Park area. Grand County, Colorado is known as Mountain Bike Capital U.S.A., which means the Grand Park community is located right in the heart of some of the nation’s best mountain biking! The area features no less than two downhill bike resorts, as well as many other mountain biking options for Grand Park residents and guests alike.

Bike Granby Ranch is a family-friendly downhill bike park located just minutes from Grand Park, and is already open for the summer season. The park features lift-served downhill trails for all abilities, in addition to even more miles of lift-served cross-country trails. Granby Ranch also provides downhill lessons and equipment rentals to guests.

The area’s other lift-served bike park, the Trestle Bike Park at the Winter Park Resort, opens on June 14. With 3 lifts and over 40 miles of trails, there’s a little something for everyone, from fast and flowing to steep and technical. Bike lessons, coaching, and equipment rentals are available at Trestle as well.

Of course, the bike fun in the Grand Park area isn’t limited to just the resorts. Grand County is home to over 600 miles of bike trails – Mountain Bike Capital U.S.A., indeed! With that many trails, there’s a little something for everyone: downhill trails, cross-country trails, singletrack trails, technical trails, easy cruiser trails, even paved trails too.

In fact, Grand Park has some fantastic trails of our own, with several miles of trails in Grand Park’s open spaces. The same trails that are great for cross-country skiing in the winter months are also great for biking and walking in the summer. The trails even provide a direct route from Grand Park’s mountain homes to the businesses in The Village at Grand Park. Grand Park will even be hosting the Colorado Dirt endurance bicycle race this upcoming September 13, 2014 – stay tuned for details!

Grand Park’s bike trails and open spaces are among the many reasons why Grand Park is the best real estate in the Winter Park area. At Grand Park, we believe the mountain home of your dreams should come with an amazing mountain community as well.
